Ivy's Soccer Camp

I have been waiting for the day that Ivy could play sports. I never played them and being a woman who um...struggles with her weight....I have always desired her to love being active. So, as we are entering soccer season, she got to go to soccer camp. She is technically a little young for the camp but my good friend ,Jolene, let her squeeze in with her friends to see how she did. She did great and had a blast! Once I got her to quit dancing around, (literally) picking her nose on the field, stop holding hands with Lexie, and gain a little focus, she did so great. I had a little lump in my throat that my little baby is growing up!
Learning how to kick it in.
Yep, they were in the game when they stopped to hug it out.
The best of friends. Lexie, Ivy, and Katie

NBC Universal Estate Sale

I looked on my estate sale website (located at the bottom right on my blog page) and saw that there was going to be an estate sale put on by NBC Universal studios. They were selling alot of set designs from TV shows like Heroes. I took the girls and it was AMAZING! It was 3 warehouses FULL.
If you want to go, I think that alot is 25% off tomorrow and Sunday everything is 50% off. 7:30 am -5 pm Location: 20000 Prairie Street, Chatsworth,CA. 91311I got 8 cafeteria trays for $2 ,8 hotdog baskets and ketchup bottle for $1, napkins for $1
straw dispenser for $3,extra straws and napkins for $1, a napkin dispenser for $1
cute frame $1
Entertainment Center for $10!!!!!!!!!! ( I might paint it or just clean it up)
Book shelf for $2 because of this scratch.
They had tons of bedroom furniture and couches. On the back of the bedroom stuff it would say whose rom it was but it didn't list the TV show. It had refrigerators from actor's trailers and TONS of stuff from fake restaurants. There I was in heaven! I bought the cafeteria trays so that Ivy and her friends can carry food outside to the pool on trays. They even had tons of sushi dishes and fake looking sushi. They even had coffins and someone bought one!

I was not anticipating all of this so they had to tie by back hatch with robe. Ivy was afraid she was going to fall out even though she was in a different row. I had not taken out 2 of my strollers so she had no where to put her feet. There was a fire by the freeway so the traffic was terrible so it took me over 2 hours to get home and I hadn't brought a bottle for Lucy ,so...fun times. I kept thinking of my blog friend Kirra who carried a chair home on the subway because she wanted her chair so bad. That is how I felt about my entertainment center. All this stuff for under $30...not bad!

One of my new favorites

There is a blog I like to stalk...I mean read. I have met this girl once before I think but she would never remember me. I get so excited when she has a new blog post. (Come on, I know you have a fellow blogger that you do this to.....) Well, my friend Carly (who doesn't know she is my blog friend) had this on her website. It is a necklace that is a soft baby teething ring. it is from a company called Smart Mom. She has the information on her blog (at the very bottom of her post.)I got mine on Amazon.com and I love it. I get so many compliments on my necklace. If you have a little one, this is a must have! Thanks to my good friend Carly!

Home Tour Tuesdays (Part 5)

Ok. I wanted to do something a little different today and show you a couple of home projects. First up is my little craft closet in the playroom. This isn't the greatest picture because it looks messy but it is actually really organized. I know where everything is now. All of the white boxes are from Walmart. My fabric box (because I don't have that much. That is the talent I wish I had but don't.)
This is how I keep my ribbons. My friend, Kayce's idea.

More ribbon. Martha Stewart ribbon keeper.
Here is the project I did this weekend. I got this bulletin board from my friend Kelli. I have redone it about 4 times. every time I get bored, I do something new. Here is the before pictures. Nice and bright.

Here is the after. I know, the before looks better in pictures but I wanted a more rustic, vintage feel.
I distressed the wood a little.

The end. :)

Quick Trip

My blog friend Kirra wrote a post about going to Ventura with her dad. The whole day looked AMAZING! So Matt and I played a little hooky in the morning and took a half day trip to Ventura. We ate at the same place Kirra did and went and shopped on Main Street, then we drove to Ojai because I always wanted to, then back before night church started. It was such a fun day to be with my family. Here are a few highlights.....Thanks Kirra!

On another...more important note.... today is my 13th wedding anniversary to my Matt. I have been thinking a lot about him today. How much I love him, what a great man he has become, what a great dad he is, what a faithful, loving husband he is to me. Happy Anniversary Matt. Thanks for choosing me . I'm a lucky woman!

Estate Sales

I took the girls to 2 estate sales around LA this morning. We went to La Crecsenta and Burbank.Ivy wanted me to show you the DISNEY ruler that she got.
A cute recipe box (I might use it for craft stuff) with some nice thank you cards.
A cute rooster picture for my dining room.
A candy jar with ruby red lid.
4 pink drinking glasses. I need to start a pink collection since I am a mom of 2 girls.
A hand mixer and 2 mini mason jar salt and pepper shakers.
MY RED CHAIR!!! I left it and was sad because I thought it was too much money. While driving to Burbank I called my mom and told her about it. She said, " You need to tell me about that kind of stuff because sometimes I would buy it for you, like today, I would have bought you that chair. " I said,"Oh Mom, I didn't know we played like that. " She said, Girl we play like that." Oh yeah...I drove all the way back and picked up that red chair! THANKS MOM!!

estate sales+ my girls + my treasures + MY ROCKIN' RED CHAIR = success!

Last Weekend's Garage Sale Finds

Usually, I do not go to garage sales on Fridays but I saw a few. I found my best finds of the weekend. I got all 3 of these shelves( that match my living room) for $5. The lady told me I was getting a steal. When I got home I saw the price tag on the back of each one and I saw that they had been $60 apiece!

I got a cute glass jar to put our summer sea shells in and a cute stool I put in the girls room. I might paint it or leave it. Then I got a couple picture frames and tissue paper.
I had some good success on saturday. I took Ivy, Hollie, and our friend Tiffany. I got the following....
Big basket for Lucy's toys.....
Another boogie board for $5 so Ivy's friend could play with one at the pool.
Games for Matt and Ivy
Friday + Saturday+ Ivy = success.
