Lucy's 1st Birthday Gift

Lucy got her 1st birthday gift in the mail. (I think from my parents.) She got a couple of books and this is one of them. I just read it. So cute. One week from today we go to court and she officially becomes an Elliott!

A day with my girls

I took the girls for a little girl's day as I am starting to go back to work next week. Here are some pictures of the day. Ivy LOVES the Grove! Thata girl! She had to bring her American Girl,Emily, who by the way had to be buckled into her own car seat every where we went. Oh boy. We ate at the Farmer's Market, which was soooo good.

Lucy could care less. She only cared about her pretzel.

Then, if you haven't heard the news. As I was driving into Malibu, I got the call that our court date to finalize the adoption for Lucy is set for August 18! So we cheated on our diets (me and Matt, not the girls) and went to Menchie's for some yougurt.
My girls+ L.A.+good food+Daddy+ ANSWERED PRAYER= a great day!

My latest project

I found this desk at a garage sale for $5. It was exactly what I have been looking for!Here is the finished project. I put it in my room next to the bookcase I had redone. Do you recognize the red chair my mom gave me? I don't have a lot on there yet but I am waiting to find a great lamp and the right accesories that I want.
The top knob I got from Anthropologie. The other ones are from Home Depot.
I got this cork board placemat from Pottery Barn for a surface to write on that would not get my desk as dirty. I wanted floral but they didn't have the right colors. I can always trade it out but this one make it look cheery.
My only question is, Should I distress the desk and bookcase or leave it alone? Thoughts?

My new favorite....

I picked up this little cutie while shopping in an antique shop in Carpenteria with Lucy. We were at the beach and I took Lucy for a walk to give her something to do and I happened upon this initial necklace. I have been looking for a necklace to have with my girls initials and I loved this when I saw it. I didn't take pictures of the other side but the L has green glass behind it and the I has red glass. It is so pretty and well made. I am loving it as a casual necklace to wear.

More Soccer Camp

Ivy's Soccer Camp

I have been waiting for the day that Ivy could play sports. I never played them and being a woman who um...struggles with her weight....I have always desired her to love being active. So, as we are entering soccer season, she got to go to soccer camp. She is technically a little young for the camp but my good friend ,Jolene, let her squeeze in with her friends to see how she did. She did great and had a blast! Once I got her to quit dancing around, (literally) picking her nose on the field, stop holding hands with Lexie, and gain a little focus, she did so great. I had a little lump in my throat that my little baby is growing up!
